Ryde Inshore Rescue came to the aid of 3 persons stuck onboard a fishing boat that ran aground in Wootton yesterday (Sunday).
The lifeboat and its crew were paged at around 17:50 to the incident at the entrance of Wootton Creek.
Ryde Rescue 1 (RR1) made the best speed to assist because of the falling tide, however unfortunately, nothing could be done to get the boat off the bank.
Assistance was given to the 3 persons on board to get them safely onto dry land.
After making sure all was left secure and safe on the boat with the anchor laid, RR1 returned to the station with the crew leaving the station at 19:30.
what – they could simply have climbed off the boat and walked ashore
waste of time and resources –
then they could have checked tide times and returned to the boat to wait for it to lift of the bank
You wouldn’t be able to walk across if it’s deep mud then would of been more resources and more money
Its a shingle bank to the royal vic through someones back garden.
Looks like the bloke in the photo is standing on the sea bed just fine?
Stupid idiots ,havent they heard of tides,or a depth sounder ,should be charged the cost of the rescue services used.!!!!
