The parents of 17-year-old Jake Hall, who died in a motorcycle collision in Freshwater on Friday, have paid tribute to the ‘gentle, kind, loving and funny’ teen.
As previously reported by Island Echo, emergency services were called at 17:32 on Friday evening (23rd June) to reports of a collision on Hill Lane, at the junction with Pixley Hill, in Freshwater.
This involved a white Ford Fiesta and a white KTM motorcycle.
The rider of the motorcycle, 17-year-old Jake Hall from Freshwater, was pronounced dead at the scene.
His family are being supported by specialist officers and have now made tribute to him.
In a moving statement, Jake’s parents have today (Sunday) said:
“An amazing and treasured son – gentle, kind, loving and funny. Passed away too young.

“Wherever you are Jake – Rest in Peace until we meet again.
“All our love, Mum and Dad xxx”
Friday’s fatal crash remains under investigation and Police would like to speak to anyone with information that has not already contacted them.

I am so so sorry for the parents and family, I have a son who is 18 so can only imagine how difficult and devastating this must be for you. How heartbreaking what a beautiful son you have lost, I truly am hurting for you and thinking of you at this sad sad time. X

Very sad news, personally I don’t believe anyone under 18 should be allowed on
the roads on motorcycles.

Then also ban them from driving cars as cars can do more damage. But it has nothing to do with age but attitude to driving. And your comment seems to suggest the rider was at fault, but it’s still under investigations so keep your options to yourself.
