An out of control barbecue at a residential address in Wootton has sparked a callout for firefighters this evening (Saturday).
The Hampshire & Isle of Wight Fire and Rescue Service is in attendance at an address on Kite Hill after receiving a 999 call at just after 19:50.
1 appliance and its wholetime crew from Newport has headed to the scene to bring the outdoor cooking equipment back under control.
UPDATE @ 20:28 – Newport’s fire crew have swiftly extinguished the out of control barbecue and have now stood down from the incident.
