An attempted murder investigation launched after a woman was found with serious arm injuries has been shut down, with both men arrested released without charge.
It was just gone 15:00 yesterday afternoon that Police and paramedics responded to reports of an incident at an address on Albert Road in Sandown.
Emergency crews located a woman with injuries to her arm, with immediate casualty care provided to the female.
As a result of initial enquiries, 2 men aged in their 30s were both arrested on suspicion of attempted murder. The pair were taken into custody for questioning.
Hampshire & Isle of Wight Constabulary has now confirmed that both men have been released, with no further action to be taken.
Island Echo understands that the injured woman inflicted the injuries upon herself. Police say no crimes have been identified.

Hmm..she was seriously injured the other covered in blood. Was it some ritual if not a crime?
Professional police then, arrest them for attempted murder one day and release them without charge the next???
They were not arrested for attempted murder. They were arrested “on suspicion of…” so that proper enquiries could be carried out privately in the police station rather than in front of a crowd in the street all posting on social media.
Exactly the correct procedure, and if I had become innocently involved I would want to be treated in the same way.
Yes there are crimes commited. wasting police resources and false accusations
Wow I wonder what the cost of this was and the stress caused to those lads. Sympathies for the woman if she is self harming but the police really ought to stop jumping on every incident and looking for a crime. This is how it ends up.
Another great use of funds!!
No mater what the police do its wrong.
Woman attacked with knife.
Find offenders and arrest them.
How where the police to know she done it to herself, after all that’s not how these sort of attacks normally happen.
Well done to all the emergency services, for all you do.
