NICKY ENTERS LONDON CLASSICS HALL OF FAME

Nicky Thompson, a Deputy Head Teacher at Carisbrooke College, has recently entered the London Classics Hall of Fame for her achievements in sport.

She is 1 of 200 women (570 people in all) who have completed the London Classics; The London Marathon, Ride London and Swim The Serpentine.

Most of the 570 partcipants are from the UK but there are some from further afield.

Nicky said:

“I think I’m probably the only person from the Island and now have this pretty impressive medal to show for it.”

“Since there are so few of us and because of how I got to this point I thought it might be quite interesting for others. I started running again because I realised that I needed to have a better work life balance and needed to change my lifestyle. It just proves anything is possible!

“I would like to thank Newport based ‘Love Running’ who are the group I started running with and who are an inspirational group of people”.
