Households in the Newport East area – including Barton and Pan – have been hit by a power cut this dinner time (Friday).
Power was lost at just gone 18:00 with the unexpected loss of supply affecting 19 postcode areas.
Scottish and Southern Electricity Networks are aware of the fault and have engineers on their way to investigate further.
There is currently no estimated time for when power will be restored.
