UPDATED: Yet another technical issue has resulted in the suspension of Hovertravel’s cross-Solent service between Ryde and Southsea this morning (Monday).
The problem has developed on the company’s only operational hovercraft, Island Flyer.
As previously reported by Island Echo, the second craft in the fleet, Solent Flyer, is undergoing repair work in Southampton for a total period of 7 weeks. She is not due back until 12th November.
Passengers were left waiting for over an hour on Saturday morning when a technical problem hit. It was only last Thursday that Hovertravel’s service was suspended for 4 hours due to another technical issue with Island Flyer.
Hovertravel say an update on today’s suspension of service will be provided at 10:30.
UPDATE @ 10:59 – Hovertravel have now resolved the technical issue and therefore operations have recommenced in accordance with the revised timetable.
