A technical issue with Hovertravel’s Island Flyer, which has led to an hour-long delay, has left customers frustrated this morning (Saturday).
Passenger arrived at the Ryde terminal as normal for the 08:15 crossing but were soon told there would be a 10 minute delay. After 10 minutes they were informed of a 15 minute delay, but by 08:50 staff said the service was ‘suspended’.
One irate passenger has told Island Echo:
“The service is suspended yet the website says different. There has been no text out to ticket holders either. It’s pretty wild down here – everyone is leaving”.
Thankfully, those heading to Southsea for onward travel to destinations such as Tuscany are now on their way with the Hovercraft having left Ryde at around 09:20.
Both the 08:15 and 08:45 failed to operate.
