Scoot Ferries have today (Tuesday) announced the launch of the ScootClub Membership Scheme, offering annual fixed price travel from between £4 – £6.50 to and from the Isle of Wight.
The scheme will offer low cost cross-Solent travel in return for a yearly, tiered membership fee based on the customer’s frequency of travel.
With incredible value pricing for commuters, irregular travellers, seniors, students and families, Scoot has transformed travel costs for Islanders. These new prices afford Island residents and businesses the opportunity to attract tourism and expertise from across the water at an affordable rate.
Under their annual membership fee, ScootClub members will be able to enjoy unlimited travel for as little as £4 per person each way – meaning a family of four could travel for a return price of just £32, whatever the time of year. Membership will cost from £25 to £100 a year and the prices will apply across Scoot’s current routes – Yarmouth to Lymington and Cowes to Portsmouth – and on their future Cowes to Hamble route, launching early 2016.
In addition, Island tourist attractions will be able to buy into the scheme, allowing them to offer cheaper ferry travel to their visitors.
David Thornton, Chief Executive Officer at Visit Isle of Wight, is in support of the ScootClub. He said:
“The Isle of Wight’s tourism industry currently faces some very real challenges. Scoot Ferries’ low cost ticket options aim to increase visitor numbers at a time when our Island needs it most. I welcome Scoot’s new ScootClub Membership Scheme as something that can really make a difference to Island life.”
Scoot is keen to partner with local businesses, whether on or off-island, working with them to offer ScootClub members other benefits in addition to subsidised ferry travel.
Scoot’s CEO, Zoë Ombler said:
“We launched Scoot with the aim of making cross-Solent travel a regular, affordable option for as many people as possible – and to ensure that true community benefit is always at the heart of everything we do. This can be evidenced through our partnership with local businesses in West Wight, who have already seen a direct commercial benefit in working with us.
“We see the ScootClub as a great opportunity to help support some of our very best attractions and businesses, working together to promote the Isle of Wight as a fantastic and affordable place to visit – whether for a day, a weekend or longer.”
With so many Islanders using the ferries over the festive period, a ScootClub Membership is the perfect gift for friends and family. Offering low cost ferry travel for as little as £4, Christmas has really come early for Island residents.
Scoot Ferries has been operating since Cowes Week 2015. As the Isle of Wight’s only island-based, island-owned ferry company, the ferry operator has quickly developed a reputation for transparent communication, first-class customer service, and support for local businesses and residents alike. Scoot aims to become a true lifeline service for the island – demonstrated through their commitment to operating from early until late, 365 days a year.
