A special evening at Dimbola Museum and Galleries will mark the launch of The New Total War, a new book by former Isle of Wight MP and Army officer Bob Seely, with photographs by renowned photographer Annabel Moeller.
The event, taking place at the Freshwater-based museum on Saturday 8th November, will include a moderated discussion, book signing, and private viewing of Annabel Moeller’s photography exhibition in Julia’s Studio. The evening begins at 18:00, with the talk starting at 18:30.
The New Total War explores the unconventional methods used by Russia and other authoritarian regimes in their efforts to challenge Western supremacy. Moeller’s photographs accompany the text, capturing both the humanity and intensity of modern warfare.
Also available on the night will be copies of Moeller’s coffee table book Friends to Frontiers, which focuses on the human stories behind her images. The event will be moderated by Harriet Hadfield, a journalist and former Sky News correspondent who moved to the Isle of Wight in 2020.

Proceeds from the evening will support the Julia Margaret Cameron Trust’s Computer Appeal, which aims to fund the urgent replacement of the museum’s computer systems.
