A new baby store, aiming to save parents from trawling the internet in search of baby goods, has opened up in Ryde.
Specialising in baby clothes, The Baby Bear Emporium on Ryde High Street also sells changing bags, baby accessories, toys, swimwear and nursery furniture and plans to expand its wares to include essentials for parents too.
The shop wants to help parents buy essentials for their children locally and in person as opposed to having to go online.
Located in between the Kebab house and the former Barclays Bank building at the bottom of Ryde High Street, the shop is open 10:00-17:00 Wednesday to Saturday and 10:00-16:00 on Sunday.
The premises housed a baby shop previously when Precious Cargo was at the site, with estate agent Lancasters housed in the building up until a few months ago.
The store, which only opened on 23rd August, is already proving popular amongst Ryde locals and Islanders alike.

Ought to do very well as now having children is a viable option and first choice for the state funded rather than work. Hence the lack of workers.
The shortage is clearly not through lack of people.
But as many have sussed when gaining free rent and council tax, free school dinners and transportation free prescriptions and dental care hundreds a week in tax credits and child allowance too, then only fools would work
Plus they have all week to do as they please be it beach, cafe or create an additional income stream
Absolute madness even contemplating going into this while everyone is skint and baby clothes/accessories/general baby tat can be bought for next to nothing from Asda, Morrisons, Home Bargains, Marketplace etc etc.
That is the difference between an entrepreneur and you Bob
they see opportunity and take a chance, whereas you do nothing and pour scorn onto those that are trying to revive the high street with an independent store
It will be value for money that makes or breaks this new venture , if prices aren’t competitive (very) it will fail
with the added business rates, wages utility bills etc it’s going to be hard to compete with on line stores just like many other businesses have found out the hard way .
Good luck anyway hope it works for you
