Mystery remains as to exactly how a Honda Jazz came to rest upside down in a hedge on the outskirts of St Helens earlier this week.
Island Echo understands that the road traffic collision – on Carpenters Road – occurred at around 19:00 on the evening of Friday 24th January.
Hampshire & Isle of Wight Constabulary has visited the crashed vehicle, which has been left in situ in a hedge with a ‘police aware’ sticker on it.
It is understood the vehicle was travelling toward St Helens when it lost control before the leaving the road and ploughing through a hedge.
Island Echo has contacted Hampshire & Isle of Wight Constabulary but as of this evening (Saturday) has yet to receive a reply.
Just like many Island Roads, Carpenters Road is another
“Lawless” island road.
Until IW Council install speed humps everywhere and speed
Camera’s, these type of accidents will continue to happen
due to speeding.
I think Cllr Jordan goes around the Island with
Blinkers on, otherwise he would see what a problem
Speeding is on the island.
Here goes mr I have no idea what I’m talking about again. Do you not have a job? It’s got nothing to do with speed. It’s another one of your mates who is to old to drive
Us older drivers are the sensible drivers
it’s the young Numpty’s who don’t know how
to drive.
Maybe you are due a refresher course.
Well said . Totally agree
Never thought I’d find myself in accord with EIE but he is factually right. Younger drivers have multiple times as many significant single vehicle accidents as older ones. They cause more accidents and injuries by a huge proportion.. If the stats are wrong, why are new driver insurance premiums at such a level? If you have a point to make via this medium, you really should base it on facts. History and current events should teach us how important the truth is
Totally agree with you there, all everybody sees of Mr Know All is him complaining about this and that, I expect he’s one of the OAP’s that drive around at 15MPH causing countless accidents behind him.
The vehicle didn’t lose control did it ! Where’s the nutter who was steering it….
Try Boozing, drugs or speeding or the lot put together?
Stricter laws are required.
Anyone found to be driving under the influence
of drink or drugs needs banging up.
Also it is not rocket science, motorists on the island
constantly speed because they know there are NO
speed Camera’s just 1 police van that cannot be
everywhere at once.
IW Council needs to put measures in place to
STOP vehicles speeding!
IW Council are more concerned about motorists
going 1 minute over their parking time than they
are speeding.
BAN SPEEDING F.F.S
