UPDATED: Emergency services are responding to a road traffic collision involving a motorcycle at Blackwater near Merstone this evening (Thursday).
The incident has occurred near to the parcel distribution depot on the A3056.
Traffic is reported to be at a standstill in both directions. Motorists are advised to avoid the area if possible.
UPDATE @ 17:30 – The collision has involved a pick-up, which has sustained damage to the front end wheel.
The Isle of Wight Ambulance Service and Police are now on scene.
Traffic is very heavy in the area and Southern Vectis say their Route 2 buses are delayed.
UPDATE @ 18:37 – Hampshire Constabulary have confirmed that a motorcycle, a Vauxhall Astra and a Mitshubishi pick-up have all been involved in the incident.
The extent of the injuries sustained is unclear at this time, but they are not thought to be life-threatening.
