Reports of a missing person have sparked a search of an area of Firestone Copse this evening (Friday).
Multiple police units including several cars, a van, an Armed Response Vehicle, and a dog unit assembled at the main Firestone Copse car park off Firestone Copse Road just after 21:00.
A response vehicle from WightSAR has also been present at the scene, although the search and rescue team are not understood to have been tasked as of yet.
Details of the missing individual are as yet unknown.
UPDATE @ 22:20 – After a short search of the footpaths in the area of the Firestone Copse car park by police units, teams have been stood down.
It’s understood that the missing person was located safe and well.
