A 30-year-old man has been arrested following a drugs raid at a property in Lake this morning (Friday).
Officers from the Isle of Wight High Harm Team conducted a warrant at an address on Newport Road in the town.
Those present used the big red key to gain access to the address where they seized cash and a large quantity of cannabis.
A 30-year-old man was arrested at the address on suspicion of being concerned in the supply of Class B drugs.
He remains in custody at this time.
A spokesperson from the force has said:
“We want people to feel confident to report crime, and urge people to keep telling us about drug dealing in their neighbourhood. You may not always see an immediate police response, but please don’t let that put you off! All that means is we are working hard behind the scenes to develop the bigger picture.
“Every piece of information provided by you is reviewed and feeds into that intelligence picture which, once developed, leads to action like you have seen today.”

Hopefully they will use another key to lock the prison door.

No one really get it it’s ok for the government to sell drugs but but it’s not ok for some to sell a class B or c I don’t do drugs or drink but I don’t y that can get way with people getting a addicted to pain meds

Government should just legalise it already, they’re already growing and selling it privately and on NHS. Extra income through tax to go towards public services and the dealers would no longer be a problem
You are probably right. Keep the drug drive laws but legalise cannabis. That would break the link with criminals who deal and money launder.
Hit dealers of other drugs much harder and start looking at tightening alcohol sales restrictions .
Alcohol is very damaging and the cause of much violence and anti social behaviour .
Licences should be much more strictly monitored and taken away if it not responsibly adhered to.
If they legalised it here the island would benefit massively, the tax alone would sort the roads, cafes would bring jobs ,even to those that didn’t want to work , and tourism would be up, but the government says no benefit to legalise it even though we’re one of the biggest producers and exporters of medical canna
