A collision between a lorry and a van on the outskirts of Chale is causing delays to buses this morning (Thursday).
The incident has occurred on Emmett Hill between Chale and Kingston – the route to Chillerton.
Island Echo understands that a van has collided into the rear of a lorry, which had to stop whilst negotiating a narrow section of road.
Southern Vectis say the 08:12 Route 6 bus to Newport is currently stuck and unable to turn around. This service is delayed as a result.
No one is thought to have been seriously injured in the incident.
UPDATE @ 11:48 – The scene of the crash has been cleared and therefore the road is now open in both directions.
