An Isle of Wight photographer has seen his photo make the final of The British Photography Awards.
David Rutherford or ‘Day’ as he’s known, is a music and portrait photographer from the Island and has been taking photos since he was a teenager.
His submission of singer-songwriter Example pictured at the Isle of Wight Festival – taken on his Canon camera – is 1 of 15 shortlisted in the events category of the British Photography Awards 2022.
David said:
“After the craziness that has been the past few years with COVID-19, my intention of this image was to capture the feeling of togetherness during this Isle of Wight Festival big top performance by Example.
“I was fortunate enough to have stage access for the entire set, so chose my moment before heading up front and timing this image.”
