Christopher Wheeler, who has autism, learning difficulties and is non-verbal, has been growing his hair for several years after being inspired by the film Aquaman. Since then, he hasn’t dared to cut it.
Now, Christopher has made the selfless decision to donate his hair to the Little Princess Trust, which provides real-hair wigs to children and young people who have lost their hair through cancer treatment or other medical conditions.
By donating his locks, Christopher hopes to help another child feel more confident and protected from unkind comments, offering comfort and a reason to smile during what can be an incredibly difficult time.
Supporting the effort, Tim Wheeler has also been fundraising for the charity and has so far raised £402 via his GoFundMe page, helping to boost the impact of Christopher’s generous decision.
Well known for his busy and active lifestyle, Christopher is always on the go. He works at Care in the Garden, enjoys skateboarding with John Cattle, paddleboarding with Tackt Isle Adventures, and regularly bakes treats for his work colleagues – a thoughtful gesture that reflects his kind and generous nature.
Most recently, Christopher has also set up a F.R.I.E.N.D’s Club at Milford Del, which runs fortnightly on a Thursday. The club has been created as an inclusive and welcoming space for people who may need a little extra support but want to make new friends, have fun, and feel comfortable being themselves. The group has already begun to make a positive impact within the community.
A JustGiving page has been set up for anyone wishing to support Christopher as he bravely and selflessly loses his locks to help a child in need. Every donation will support the work of the Little Princess Trust and help ensure more children receive wigs when they need them most.
