Local contractors, consultants and material suppliers on the Isle of Wight are being invited to meet with Sir Robert McAlpine to learn how to bid for work on its upcoming project to deliver a £25 million redevelopment for Ryde Academy.
The event, hosted by Constructionline on 22nd March 2016 at the Lakeside Park Hotel, Wootton, will give SMEs the chance to speak with procurement specialists from Sir Robert McAlpine about work opportunities and give advice on how to join their supply chain.
The day will also provide local businesses with details on three other local Sir Robert McAlpine projects in the area: Sandown Bay Academy, Christ the King College and Carisbrooke College.
Sir Robert McAlpine is looking for suppliers from an extensive list of construction trades, including flooring, cladding, steel work, joinery and painting among many others.
Steve Temperley, subcontract buyer at Sir Robert McAlpine, said:
“We are committed to supporting the local economy in the areas where we work and investing in suppliers and subcontractors in the region is a big part of what we do. We’re looking forward to broadening our supply chain and seeing what work opportunities we can help provide for local individuals and businesses on the day.”
Darren Lane, business development manager at Constructionline, said:
“This event will give Sir Robert McAlpine a platform to talk in-depth about the multi-million pound works available to local firms at its Ryde Academy projects. In addition, the small businesses in the region will be offered the chance to forge long-term relationships with the major contractor as part of its supply chain.”
