Monday 19th September – Friday 23rd September 2022
• Billy Brian Chilcott, 28, of Green Street in Ryde, pleaded guilty to failing to comply with the notification requirements of the sex offender register. He was fined £50 and ordered to pay a £34 surchange. He also admitted the commission of a further offence during a suspended sentence. The suspended sentence was not activated due to being a minor breach, but varied to include 25 days of rehabilitation activity.
• Shannon Butler, 26, of Westminster Lane, Newport pleaded guilty to assault a person thereby occasioning them actual bodily harm and assault by beating. The case has been adjourned to 18th October for a pre-sentence report to be compiled.
• Aaron Rooke, 43, of Barton Road, Newport, pleaded guilty to 3 charges of theft from a shop and fail to surrender to bail. He was handed a 18-month community order with a drug rehabilitation requirement for 6 months and 10 rehabilitation days. He was also ordered to pay £200 compensation.
• Reece Conlon, 30, of Trafalgar Road, Newport, pleaded guilty to drink driving (103). He was banned from driving for 25 months and made subject to a 12-month community order with 80 hours of unpaid work. He was ordered to pay £85 costs with a £114 surcharge.
• Neil Craven, 36, of Auckland Avenue, Darlington, pleaded guilty to criminal damage. He was fined £40 and ordered to pay £25.
• Paul Bishton, 31, of Yarborough Arcade, Shanklin, pleaded guilty to possession of a Class A drug (cocaine) and a Class B drug (cannabis). He was ordered to pay a £120 fine, £85 costs and a £34 surcharge.
• David Hopkins, 62, of High Street, Ventnor, pleaded guilty to 2 charges of assault by beating. He was made subject to a 12-month community order with 20 rehabilitation days. He was made subject to a 12-month community order with 20 rehabilitation days. He was fined £120 and ordered to pay £300 costs with a £95 surcharge.
• Sally Ryland, 56, of Victoria Road, Yarmouth, was charged with failing to give information relating to the identification of the driver of a vehicle and speeding (namely 41mph in a 30mph limit). This was proved in her absence. She was handed 6 penalty points on her licence, fined £180 and ordered to pay £300 costs with a £34 surcharge.
• David Walker, 34, of High Street, Wootton, pleaded guilty to 3 charges of assault by beating. The case was adjourned until 8th November for a medical or psychiatric report to be prepared.
• Huaqiu Chen, 26, of Edgware Road, London, pleaded guilty to causing unnecessary suffering to a protected animal. The case was adjourned until 18th October.
• Craig Whitewood-khan, 45, of Lower Hyde Park, Shanklin, pleaded guilty to burglary dwelling and theft, failing to surrender to bail. He was handed a 6 month prison sentence and ordered to pay £100 compensation.
• Sunny Evelight, 25, of Fleet Way, Shalfleet, pleaded guilty to injuring a non-Schedule 1 wild bird and firing an air weapon beyond premises. He was handed a 18-month community order with 20 rehabilitation days attached. He was ordered to pay £85 costs with a £114 surcharge.
• Jake Woodford, 26, of Hookes Way, Newport, pleaded guilty to theft from a shop. He was handed a 6-month conditional discharge and ordered to pay £20.35 compensation, £85 costs and a £26 surcharge.
• Harry Turnbull, 30, of C/o Pyle Street, Newport, pleaded guilty to 3 counts of criminal damage and 1 of assaulting a person thereby occasioning them actual bodily harm. He was handed a 36-week prison sentence, suspended for 12 months and was ordered to pay £834 compensation and was made subject to
• Shania Cant, 31, of Station Avenue, Sandown, pleaded guilty to common assault of an emergency worker. She was handed a 18-month conditional discharge and ordered to pay £20 compensation, £85 costs and a £26 surcharge.
• Anthony Serjent, 44, of Fort Street, Sandown pleaded guilty to assault by beating. He was made subject to a 18-month community order with 9 months of alcohol treatment and 30 rehabilitation days. He was ordered to pay £50 compensation and £85 costs.
