Red Funnel has this week announced that from January 2024 they are to cut late-night sailings on its Red Jet service. Red Funnel says the timetable change reflects reduced passenger demand for late-night crossings. As off the current timetable The last four crossings in each direction will be as follows: Hi-Speed Red Jet evening service (Southampton to West Cowes)
- Departing at: 18.30, 19.40, 21.05, 22.30
Hi-Speed Red Jet evening service (West Cowes to Southampton)
- Departing at: 19.05, 20.15, 21.40, 23.05
Foot passengers can also consider Red Funnel’s Southampton to East Cowes service, with the final late-night departures still leaving Southampton at 23:55 and East Cowes at 22:30 and 01:30. “We apologise for any inconvenience these adjustments to Red Jet timetable may cause. The updates are due to a reduction in demand, which has dropped off substantially since 2019. We will continue to monitor passenger numbers travelling on all services and make timetable adjustments as necessary.”
The company will also adjust Red Jet sailing times on Southampton FC match days, ensuring fans can travel between West Cowes and Southampton. Further information will be made available in January.
