Hundreds of properties have been hit by a power cut in the Northwood and Gurnard areas of Cowes tonight (Saturday).
Those living in the PO31 8 postcode lost supply at around 23:10 as a result of a main network fault.
Scottish and Southern Electricity Networks say that engineers are en-route to begin investigations and, at this stage, power is expected to be restored by 02:30.
UPDATE SUNDAY @ 07:22 – The power outage has been blamed on a fallen tree, which brought down a power cable in the nearby area.
11 postcodes remain without electricity this morning but SSEN hope to have power restored by 08:00.
Incident reference: FW7274
For further information about this power cut call the dedicated helpline by dialling 105.
Alternatively, you can send SSEN a message on Facebook or Twitter (@ssencommunity).
App: Did you know SSEN also have a mobile phone app where you can report, locate, track and subscribe to faults in your area?

Likely an overload by those growing dope in the garages, lofts, basements and sheds caused the supply lines to sag, due to the heavy current loading.
Drying out the crop in time for Jesus’s Birthday. He would be so proud.
