Fast food chain KFC is set to carry out refurbishment works at its Newport restaurant later this month.
It is thought over £300,000 is being spent on the fried chicken outlet at Furlongs, which opened its doors over 15 years ago.
A KFC spokesperson said:
“The Newport restaurant is due to undergo a planned refurbishment that will take place during closing hours this month meaning we will be fully open while works are carried out.
“We look forward to welcoming our fans on the Island into the new and improved restaurant, which will have the latest design features including soft seating and state of the art digital menu boards.”
Island Echo understands that it is hoped work can begin on KFC’s new restaurant at Merrie Gardens in Lake in the next few months, however a spokesperson for the brand said that there is no update regarding plans for a new KFC on the Island.
