Police on the Isle of Wight are appealing for a key witness to come forward after a vehicle was forced off the road in Ventnor last Wednesday.

Officers have spent the last week investigating the incident, which occurred on Ocean View Road at around 16:35 on 28th July.

It’s said that a Peugeot was forced off the road by another vehicle – described as a Nissan – and damage was subsequently caused to the Peugeot’s windscreen.

Following this incident, an unidentified man handed a piece of paper to the Peugeot driver which contained details of the Nissan. Police now want to identify this man as they are confident he has witnessed this incident and could provide vital information to assist the criminal investigation.

Enquiries have so far led to the arrest of a 28-year-old man from Ventnor who has been arrested on suspicion of criminal damage. He has been bailed until 25th August.
