Shanklin Sandown Rowing club had 4 of their Masters squad travel to the NEC in Birmingham last weekend for the British Rowing Indoor Championships.
This very popular event saw a large entry in all the Masters categories and the group produced some good results.
The four, Lisa Atkin, Gary Burch, Jane Denby-Roach and Simon Nevitt all competed in the standard race format over 2000m.
The club’s best result of the day came for Jane Denby-Roach in the Masters Women 65-69 category, where she came 4th.
Simon Nevitt raced in the Lightweight Masters Men 40-49 category, finishing in fifth place.
Lisa Atkin competed in the Masters Women 55-59 category, coming away with 10th place, whilst Gary Burch finished in 17th place in a personal best time, racing in the Masters men’s 60-64 race.
