Eurosceptic Grassroots Out and local WightOut groups held their first public meeting at Bembridge Village Hall last week.
Speakers at Thursday’s event included Ian Brown of Business for Britain, Tim Bristow the Island’s Referendum Party candidate in 1997 and last year’s General Election runner-up UKIP’s Iain
McKie.
The turnout was around 60 people
Ian Brown said:
“[I] was very pleased with the numbers attending. It was very heartening to hear such a high standard of questions from the audience on a wide variety of subjects relating to the European Union.”
The next Grassroots Out meeting will be held in Freshwater Memorial Hall on Thursday 24th March at 18:00. All meetings for the group will be posted onto www.wightout.org.uk.
