Isle of Wight band Stormtrooper, who recently reunited for their first live shows since the 1970s, have announced a tour of Canada, which will see the punk rockers cross the Atlantic this summer.
Featuring founding members Nigel Hutchings and Jeff Piccinini, Stormtrooper will hit the road across four cities in Canada this August. The your will kick off in Toronto with a headline show, before travelling to Montreal, Ottawa and Québec City to support legendary horror-punk band – The Undead.
Bassist Jeff and guitarist Nigel will be joined by Graham McCollough and Kevin Mann, the latter of whom has performed with Alternative TV and The Creation.
Speaking about the newly announced tour, Stormtroopers’ original members Jeff and Nigel said:
“We are super excited to be travelling to Canada in August with Kevin on drums and Graham on guitar – we are ready to rock the house down.
“Strap yourselves, Canadian punk rockers, we are on fire!”
Earlier this year, the group played live again for the first time since October 1975, playing just 1 live show during their original run before releasing their debut single ‘I’m A Mess’ in 1977 through Solent Records.
The track became a cult favourite, and promotional badges were produced alongside the release, one of which was famously worn by punk icon Sid Vicious.
Later this summer, the band will release a retrospective CD of old recordings and in October will headline a gig at the Hope and Anchor in Islington, London, where they will be part of a ‘1970s punk triple bill’ featuring Trash and Social Security.
