UPDATED: Motorists are facing delays at Arreton this afternoon (Wednesday) due to a road traffic collision near The Fighting Cocks.
Police and ambulance crews are on scene at Hale Common just by the entrance to Wight Salads on the A3056 between Newport and Sandown.
No one has been seriously injured in the crash, which occurred just before 14:45.
Traffic is backed up in both directions as Police control the flow around the scene.
UPDATE @ 15:25 – 2 people, the occupants of a Peugeot, have been conveyed to St Mary’s Hospital.
Emergency services have now departed the scene allowing traffic to return to a normal flow in both directions.
Meanwhile in Newport… Police and paramedics have been attending another road traffic collision, this time between a car and a pedestrian on Riverway.
The pedestrian has been conveyed to St Mary’s Hospital for further assessment, but is not thought to have been seriously injured.
The vehicle has been moved from the carriageway.
