An immigration offender found working at a car wash in Ryde during a raid this morning (Wednesday) has been bailed to catch a flight home tomorrow.

As first reported by Island Echo, Home Office Immigration officials descended on 5 Star Hand Car Wash on East Street, Ryde at 11:00 – accompanied by the Gangmasters and Labour Abuse Authority and Hampshire Constabulary.

The joint operation was exploring potential modern slavery, but welfare checks conducted by Police on the staff present established all were happy and content

However, when immigration status checks were carried out it was discovered that 1 male was committing offences.

He was arrested but has since been bailed.

Island Echo is told that the individual has booked his own flight home which will be departing the UK tomorrow (Thursday).

A Home Office spokesperson has said:

Article continues below this advertisement

“The government is tackling illegal immigration and the harm it causes by removing those with no right to be in the UK. We continue to work with law enforcement agencies to tackle illegal migration in all its forms.

“Our Nationality and Borders Act will fix the broken system; making it fair to those in genuine need and firm on those who seek to abuse it.

“Enforcement visits are intelligence led. The public rightly expects we investigate each potential breach thoroughly and we make no apology for this”.

Of course the staff present stated they were all happy and content, that’s what they are paid to say. Meanwhile the UK is being invaded by fake migrants by any name and we stand by and welcome them. I recently had trouble booking a hotel near Newbury simply because a number of the large hotels were closed to the public in order to house these people. Hence the reason for the crime explosion.

Funny thing is we as tax payers are paying tens of thousands per migrant, where as if they were able to work they might be paying tax, even if not tax they will still be paying for food/travel/mobile etc costing tax payers nothing and filling jobs that know one else wants. Hotels are making huge profits, why would Government pay £150 a night when I could get £29 travel lodge – greed. These migrants are not out to harm us they are just desperate for better life, our treatment of a small minority is why they turn to crime .

So immigration officals found an illegal immigrant working in a usefull low paid job that we would not get out of bed to do , and cannot be bothered to clean our own cars . he is not claiming off the Country Tax payers , so they stick him on the first airplane back to where he came from , that still leaves thousands that are being put up in hotels and financed by us tax payers . I am not quite sure what the reasoning is behind this .

He wont be paying any tax in to the system, nor National insurance, YET you can be sure ‘he’ won’t be washing cars for his entire life.

The likelyhood is, he gets some girl pregnant and then they are given a council house costing US hundreds of thousands to build, the loss of another green space, WE end up paying the rent and c tax as ‘he’ if then allowed to stay will claim to be earing little, so they get rent and c.tax free and hundreds a week in universal credit

Then they often take on the spongers way of life and choose not to work at all, and ANOTHER illegal replaces that one, and the whole cycle starts again.

SEE it how it is not through rose tinted glasses of a hard working young man. SEE the real costs& damage

He was a Romanian who didn’t register for settled status. He didn’t realise he was here illegally which is why he was bailed to fly home and not taken to a detention centre.

Decent chap, actually. Friendly and hard working.

Shame more of the drunken scum around Ryde couldn’t be more like him.

Illegal in my book is breaking the law, Our law. They have chosen to break Our laws before expecting us to throw everything at them. Legal immigrants don’t break our laws, they do things correctly & are here working & helping in places like our NHS & have entered our tax system to pay their way. The illegals do not wish to do this by any stretch. Parents of children are willing to put that child’s life at risk, by jumping into a rubber dinghy & attempt to reach here & live of the backs of those paying tax. To add insult to injury, this act is backed by a bunch of snowflakes, who has the same work ethic as the illegal army heading this way.
STOP THE BENEFITS & they will stop coming!

Very misleading clickbait title… Wasn’t illegal just a delay In a work permit visa. Very bad and lazy journalism to get clicks. Anything to please the public with BS articles

Of course it is.

But Island Echo knows it’s audience. Have you read the swivel-eyed, far-right ranting that makes up most comments?

This place is an absolute sewer of nasty old men, most of whom are “immigrants” to the Isle of Wight, themselves.
