UPDATED: Hovertravel have announced that they are to run a one craft service until Tuesday due to ongoing unplanned and essential maintenance to Island Express.
The aging craft will be undergoing repairs at Griffon Hoverwork in Southampton tomorrow and over the weekend and, as a result, a one craft service will be in operation on the Ryde-Southsea service.
Hovertravel say they anticipate a normal service will resume on Tuesday 3rd November but a further update will be made on Monday.
The following services are cancelled:
0730, 0800, 1600, 1630, 1700, 1730 from Ryde
0745, 0815, 1615, 1645, 1715, 1745 from Southsea.
Any passengers booked onto these services are asked to book onto an alternative crossing or visit cashiers in the terminals or phone 01983 717700.
Hovertravel revealed on Tuesday that development of the two new cross-Solent craft is progressing well.
UPDATE SUNDAY: Hovertravel’s winter timetable will be resumed from start of service tomorrow (Monday) following the return of Island Express.
Following a rigorous inspection by Hovertravel’s engineering team and several operational crossings on today (Sunday), Island Express will be back in service as customers return to school and work after the October half-term.
