A diverse range of items can be most useful for those endeavouring to guide, inform and support therapy interaction with children – that is why the Friends of St Mary’s Hospital were pleased to give £1,791 to the Children’s Occupational Therapy Service.
Included in the successful bid list were two iPads and cases, a switch assessment kit, colouring pens, finger paints, easel board, messy trays, specialist cutlery, potty book, bead sets and a gift card to purchase pipe cleaners, pasta etc.
Expressing gratitude to the Friends, occupational therapist Amy Duncan said:
“It’s amazing just how many activities we can now offer the children, not only here but also at homes and schools.
“Many children are used to a lot of technology these days, but until now we have not had the funds to purchase iPads, etc.
“The different games they play all help with their therapy”.
