Forecasters at the IW Met Service have issued a yellow weather warning for heavy rain across the Isle of Wight tomorrow (Sunday).
Heavy showers will develop overnight tonight which could bring up to 10mm of rainfall locally, followed by an area of more persistent rainfall tomorrow morning in which a further 15-20mm of rain could fall.
Localised flooding is possible, especially after such a prolonged dry period which has left the ground very hard and dry which means that rainwater takes much longer to be absorbed.
The warning is in force from 23:00 tonight until 14:00 tomorrow.
Further heavy rain is expected on Tuesday – follow all the latest weather updates at www.iwmetservice.co.uk.
