Cowes RNLI lifeboat was launched to assist a motorboat with 2 people and a dog aboard which has run aground in Osborne Bay this morning (Thursday).
The lifeboat, which launched at 11:48, managed to tow the boat off the gravel.
Had the lifeboat not come to its aid, the boat would’ve been trapped for hours on the receding spring tide.
It was then escorted to Haslar Marina, Gosport.
Bembridge Coastguard Rescue Team also responded to the incident.

“Had the lifeboat not come to its aid, the boat would’ve been trapped for hours on the receding spring tide”.
Spring tide, spring tide! It is August. Check the calendar. Think you need to get back to the group.
Spring tides happen whenever there is a new moon or a full moon and have nothing to do with the season of spring.
Perhaps you should go go back to the group Mr Saveloy
Thanks for saying what you did ,it saved me saying it !!
Troll, or just thick?
How stupid can you be? depth sounder ???
Does the owner bank with Midlands bank?
First rule of boating seamanship is if there isn’t enough water under your vessel it won’t float. Perhaps yon canine was at the helm?
