Gritters will be out and about treating the Island’s road network from 19:00 tonight (Wednesday).
The forecast is for low temperatures this evening and overnight, which has resulted in the decision being made to carry out a precautionary gritting run.
Motorists should drive carefully and according to the road conditions.

Wouldn’t it make more sense to pour boiling water on the roads to keep the roads warm and therefore not freeze?
Gluing hedgehogs to the road while still alive would be better, the blood that pours out when squashed is naturally warm so would not need to be boiled, saving energy and the planet
