The annual Isle of Wight Grand National and Scurry, which was due to take place tomorrow (Sunday 25th March), has been cancelled – this time due to waterlogged ground.
Organisers have had to scrap the 2018 running of the event at West Ashey Farm as the recent rain and snow has led to incredibly soggy ground.
It has been confirmed that the event will not be rescheduled.
News of the cancellation of the popular sporting event has led to comments on social media asking for an alternative running date to be considered in the future. The Grand National and Scurry has been cancelled 3 times since 2012 in 2013, 2016 and now 2018.
A spokesperson for the organising committee has said:
“Apologies to all who were looking forward to attending and competing”.
