Local theatre group Get On Stage is bringing festive cheer to Trinity Theatre this week with a lively double bill featuring the musical Scrooge… A Ghost of a Chance and a Christmas variety showcase packed with seasonal short plays.
Following the success of Alice the Musical earlier this year, Get On Stage returns with performances on Saturday (13th December) and Sunday (14th December), both starting at 14:30.
The headline show, Scrooge… A Ghost of a Chance, is a heart-warming musical by Sheila Wilson with a script penned by Doctor Who actor Colin Baker. The production has previously been staged at the Royal Albert Hall, and now Isle of Wight audiences can enjoy it locally.
Ahead of the main feature, audiences will be treated to a series of festive plays:
- Scrooge Christmas Eve – where Santa, Mrs Claus and Jacob Marley help Scrooge rediscover Christmas spirit.
- The Christmas Cuckoo – a magical tale told by a grandmother about 2 brothers visited by a mysterious guest.
- ’Twas The Night Before Christmas – a comedic interview with a family about strange events on Christmas Eve.
- The Fight Before Christmas – a panto-style comedy making its UK debut, starring the mischievous Callous Coal.
- Celebrity Christmas Capers – where Santa questions his fame in a world full of celebrities.
Luke Mulhern, Producer at Get On Stage, has said:
“Just a year ago, we were performing a small Christmas showcase in a school hall for the parents of the handful of children who joined us for six weeks of workshops.
“We have grown from strength to strength – producing Alice The Musical, hosting a Short Scene Virtual Show, performing at our own Summer Fayre, and taking part in several carnivals.
“We are thrilled to bring Scrooge to the stage this Christmas, and we cannot wait to share what we have planned for 2026!”
Tickets are priced at £12 and are available at www.GetOnStage.co.uk.
