A community fundraiser featuring cream teas, cake, raffles and high heels is set to take place at Parkside Pavilion in East Cowes this Sunday (26th October), with all profits going to support mental health and domestic abuse charities.
Peter May will be stepping into stilettos and taking on a backwards treadmill challenge to raise funds for the Hollie Gazzard Trust, which supports domestic abuse awareness and promotes the Hollie Guard personal safety app.
He will be joined by award-winning fundraiser Christopher Hayton, who will be crafting and donating his well-known pallet troughs in return for donations. Christopher is raising money for The Samaritans and is expected to appear in his signature fancy dress.
The Community Spirited Café is also supporting the event by raising funds for its newest initiative – a self-harm and suicide support group launching on Monday (10th November) from 17:30-19:30.
Profits from the day will be split equally between the 3 causes.
A raffle will also be running throughout the event, with tickets priced at £1. Visitors can enjoy a wide selection of cakes, cream teas and community spirit – all while supporting vital mental health and support services.
The event will run from 12:00 at Parkside Pavilion, East Cowes. Organisers have said the fundraiser will go ahead whatever the weather and are encouraging as many people as possible to come down and show their support.
