Fire crews have rushed to reports of a motorcycle on fire in Bouldnor, near Yarmouth, this afternoon (Thursday).
The Hampshire & Isle of Wight Fire and Rescue Service mobilised 1 appliance from Freshwater to the scene on Bouldnor Road at just after 17:00.
Firefighters used 2 sets of breathing apparatus and a hose reel jet to extinguish the flames.
There have been no reported injuries in the incident, although it’s understood that significant damage has been sustained by the motorbike. Temporary traffic delays were apparent in the area for a time.
The retained crew from Freshwater began to stand down from the scene at 17:15.

Tho i may be mistaken the vehicular entrapment photographed above looks like a scooter unless i am very much mistaken ….. ha ha
Oh I dunno, new wheels, bodywork,engine, handlebars, seats, electrics & clean up it’ll look as good as new.
Can we take it that Yarmouth Fire Station is not operational ?
Island Echo, can you please stop confusing scooters and mopeds with motorcycles. They may all have 2 wheels but are not at all the same vehicles.
Very sorry to see the burnt out shell of the scooter (not a motorcycle), hope the rider is ok.
