UPDATED: Firefighters have been called to reports of a car fire on Fairlee Road, Newport this morning (Wednesday).
Smoke is coming from the vehicle close to the link road with Medina Way.
UPDATE @ 11:02 – 1 appliance has responded to the incident and the single crew have now brought the situation under control.
Delays are to be expected in the area.
UPDATE @ 11:45 – The Isle of Wight Fire and Rescue Service have confirmed that Newport firefighters have dampened down a smoking engine that had overheated.
The incident has now been cleared.
