UPDATED: The Isle of Wight Fire and Rescue Service are responding to an alert at St Mary’s Hospital in Newport this morning (Thursday).
2 appliances from Newport, 1 from Ryde, 1 from East Cowes and the aerial ladder platform from Newport mobilised to the scene at around 08:45.
Staff have reported the smell of burning coming from the area of the CT scanner areaon the ground floor of the hospital building.
Parts of the hospital have been evacuated, according to Island Echo readers.
