The Isle of Wight Fire and Rescue Service were called to reports of a woman stuck in a lift this afternoon (Thursday).
A retained crew from East Cowes was mobilised to an address on Pelham Road in Cowes shortly before 13:20.
Fire control said that the East Cowes appliance was stood down en-route as the female managed to free herself prior to their arrival.
The stop messaged was received at 13:27.
How come East Cowes went to West Cowes for a call when West Cowes fire station is just up the road from Pelham road ?
I think that Cowes Station has limited crew available during working hours weekday daytime . The same applies to some other Fire Stations on the IOW and needs to be addressed .
