Should Quad bikes even be allowed on Roads, many ride around with
no Helmets on.
I think they can use roads if registered and carrying number plates and driver is licensed.
Certainly NOT if no reg plates. Not sure about helmet requirements.
Often ridden stupidly – sadly. There have been a lot of deaths in quadbike accidents if you Google it.
That is my point Keith.
Anything ridden sensibly is safe, but so many of these bikes
Just like motorbikes and scooters are ridden by idiots.
just like the idiots i see every morning in there cars on the phones
99.9% of car drivers on this island are idiots not just motorbikes
Most car drivers cant drive and usually on there phones you car drivers couldn’t pass a bike test let alone a car test these days hope the biker is ok
This one hasn’t had a mot fir a, long while the Pice were td numerous times and took no notice what so ever let’s hope it’s just fit for the scrap heap!!
Yep, I’ve reported them twice myself. No MOT, twos up – not legal “if” they were claiming an agricultural exemption and regularly involved in stopping traffic and shouting at people for the hunt.
The Island is full of vehicles driving around with NO Mot’s
Zero Law and Order on Island Roads
Do not require Helmets,Nothing wrong with Quad bike’s on road, most are working vehicles.
Well, helmets should be required to ride one of these death traps as there is no more head protection than a motor bike.
More fool the rider/driver!
You don’t wear helmets in your open top car and they don’t have to
They are legal to ride on the road if registered and there is no legal requirement to wear a helmet.
Small electric cars like the Citroen Ami and Renault Twizy are actually classed as quadricycles.
Having said that, you have to be a melt of the highest order to ride an open quad bike on the road without a helmet.
Just because a quad rider didn’t cause an accident won’t stop his skull popping like a ripe melon when the thing lands on it.
Too many old farts Trevor
Try growing up, you have nothing but too much time on your hands.
It’s true I was stuck behind a old fart on 40mph they were going 25mph
Maybe you should grow up with all your stupid comments all the time
Just one problem, there is another contributor on here who calls himself Kev and Island Echo allow people to use the same name. Just remember that, my comment above is correct and not stupid.
Kev and his stupid comments again
I’m sure you fart without being old. You certainly make crap comments!!!
Exactly! Roads are for cars not people. Anything less than a tan should be banned, this will block these crazies and the radical cyclists.
WTF Is a radical cyclist!?
He diesnt know he heard a kid saying it and thought it sounded cool..
It’s good to see driver supporting building more pavements and separated cycling infrastructure ;)))
Whenever I ask why Old Rd in East Cowes doesn’t have a pavement near Millfield Avenue I get concerned drivers talking how it would mean making this road one way because there’s not enough space for both… but people living there have to walk to a shop somehow, and if we all follow Isle of Wighter idea of disallowing people from roads, we therefore MUST make this road one-way and build pavement/shared space!
You dont need a helmet for a quad but its advised that you do.
I just hope they are both ok.
they are both okay
Good to hear.
Like you care all you do is say stupid comments grow up
Was another car involved as said collision
Doesn’t look good seats being across the road. I see a few quads driving around the island most safely and couples. There are a couple of middle aged men racing around the island like idiots which are the dangerous 1s
Every Time I have seen one of these quad bikes on the road, it is being driven way too fast, just like many who use the island roads in their chosen mode of transport! SLOW DOWN!
Only speed caused this, it’s one of those nasty bends you have to nearly stop on.
