E-FIT RELEASED IN BID TO IDENTIFY DEAD KAYAKER

deadkayakerefitPolice are continuing their investigations to identify a man who was found dead in his kayak on Yaverland Beach in Sandown some 4 weeks ago.

In the hope someone may recognise him, Hampshire Constabulary have released an e-fit image of the unidentified deceased male who was last seen at Brighton Canoes in Newhaven, Sussex on 8th September where he purchased the black and yellow kayak he was discovered in.

As previously reported by Island Echo, the body was found in a kayak at Yaverland by passers-by on the evening of Friday 11th September, prompting a large scale search and rescue operation. The deceased’s body had several cuts, leading Police to believing the death may have been a suicide.
