A 26-year-old man has been arrested on suspicion of drug driving following a crash in Brading this morning (Saturday).
Police were deployed to The Mall, between Bully’s Hill and High Street, at 09:18 following reports of a single vehicle collision.
Officers arrived on scene to find that a car had collided with a wall.
A drugs wipe was conducted which led to the driver of the vehicle being arrested on suspicion of driving whilst unfit through drugs.
He has been taken to Newport Police Station, where he remains this afternoon.
UPDATE – The male has been released from custody pending further investigation.
Bloods have been taken and sent off for analysis.
Another loser druggy. These muppets should be locked up for good. Total waste of space.
Put them in the stocks at brading
They should follow the driver and find out where he gets the drug from… then get them all…
To much TV, bed time !
ERRRR……..He had crashed his car into a wall !
It’s silly calling the people names and bang them up… etc. No a 5-10 year ban and random drug testing, and a re-test when the ban is up. Same with drunk drivers. If you can afford to poison your body with this crap, surely you can afford a taxi!
What about the legal drug using elderly drivers, who can barely see or walk, who regularly cause accidents? They can assess their own driving just as the ne’er-do-wells can. Hope the rules change and the book is thrown at all with incompetent drivers. Young or old, rich or poor, scally or not.
Bloods sent for analysis! No proof, no f all.
