No injuries have been reported following a minor single-vehicle road traffic incident at Merstone this lunchtime (Tuesday).
A Ford Fusion has left the road and crashed into a ditch at the side of the carriageway just after the S-bends on Merstone Lane.
The incident occurred at around 11:40 with members of the public stopping to assist the occupants.
Emergency services have not been required at the scene and the road remains open as normal with no delays.
Hope the ditch is ok
At least this car didn’t kill a poor tree. I get alarmed walking along on the pavement by the way some cars go racing past at high speed in built up areas. We’re hearing more and more about cars leaving the roads. There are just too many cars. People are so surprised by anyone who doesn’t have one as it’s taken for granted that surely you must have one. Used to be a time when not *everyone* had a car, now it’s hard to find anyone who doesn’t have. Even ‘quiet’ roads have steady stream of traffic going by constantly, and intermittently through the whole night too, it never used to be as bad as this.
Bad driving simple has that
The same as your grammar.
You were obviously there when it happened and clearly saw the incident, would you like to inform us as to exactly what happened?
Should this not be the case kindly inform us how you know it was ” Bad driving “.
Could have been a medical episode. mechanical failure, Anything. But seeing the general standard of driving on the roads these days, it would be my top of the list answer in all honesty.
oh what the flat tyre syndrom….i think not mobile phone more like
Once again I see the usual comments from the reactive Amoeba’s. Let’s hope nothing bad happens to them on the road as I wouldn’t want them injured or judged.
Cars don’t drive themselves into ditches, only idiots do that, and sometimes involve others that are simply going about their own business..
Why do so many drivers on the IOW have a desire to go off reading, it must be the most popular activity on the island!
At least no 1 and no others were hurt
only got to click that glass and you’re over, Island Roads higher the road went resurfaced and the tarmac on the edge is dropping away
Hope occupants ok.
Why do these drivers have issues driving on the green stuff instead of the black?
I have never known a Ford Fusion to drive in a straight line
A momentary lapse of concentration? Unequal tyre Pressure? Just a bad day? Bent metal gets repaired, bodies not so easy, so hope all ok.
due care and attention then LOL .People drive too fast but they cant actually drive, they cut corners don,t indicate. Terrible driving on this island because they have been allowed to get away with it
I know the driver involved and this was their action to avoid a car being driven on the wrong side of the road at speed hitting them head on.
So good bit of driving then
Hope they have evidence of that then or is it another story of the fox ran out or i swerved to miss a pheasant excuse etc.
Oh dear…a shortcut to thinking again.
Its called, i’ve heard it all before, and believe me i have been given countless amounts of excuses in my time hence why i said i hope they have evidence of that.
That’s a fine place to park up.
uhhh oh ill just park it here then …mobile phone anyone unbelivable…
