2 separate weather warnings for strong gales have been issued for the Isle of Wight, with adverse weather conditions expected on both Tuesday and Wednesday.
In stark contrast to the glorious weather this weekend, IW Met Service reports that a spell of gale force Southerly – later Westerly – winds will affect the Island overnight on Tuesday into Wednesday, with a yellow warning in force from 23:00 on Tuesday until 05:00 on Wednesday.
Forecasters say that wind gusts of up to 50mph are possible almost anywhere across the island, with gusts closer to 60mph in more exposed parts of the South and West.
A second spell of gales will impact the Island during the 2nd half of Wednesday, this time accompanied by some extremely large waves around more Western and Southern coasts. This has prompted a separate warning for between 14:00 and 23:00 on Wednesday.
Southwesterly wind gusts of up to 55mph in many parts are expected, but especially more exposed Western and Southern areas.
Islanders should be aware of the risk of very large waves, overtopping of sea defences and extremely hsxaroud conditions for small watercraft.
Falling tree debris will make the roads hazardous in some areas, especially where trees are now coming into leaf.
Delays and cancellations of public transport, including cross-Solent travel, is to be expected.

…extremely “hsxaroud” ??? What is that? Is it meant to say “hazardous “?
O what must it be like to be perfect, mistakes do happen you know what it’s meant to say so why comment
Because these people presume to know the English language. It’s their job isn’t it?
It will be windy but I am sure it was windier a few months back weather to clear the cobwebs. Just hope SW is prepared for all the rain and leave our coastal seas and rivers alone.
Southern water are fully prepared.
They have dished out 25 water butts, with holes in to trickle those 250 gallons slowly back into the soil, whilst billions of gallons fall and flood all over our Island.
So the thousands of extra roads, homes, baths, toilets, drains, will not have any negative impact now………Will they?
Curbing mass immigration causing more homes to be built is the real issue, which no-one dare say, but all know. Such is the power of ‘the’ card
Maybe a wall of gabions could be used to halt this migration. Something like Hadrian’s wall, we could call it I V’s wall.
