A dental practice in the heart of Newport has announced that is to close permanently in January 2024, adding to the Island’s current dental woes. In a letter sent to those registered at {my}dentist, that Island Echo has seen, those in charge say that ‘despite their best efforts’ they have been left with ‘no other option’ but to close the practice of Gray’s Walk, Pyle Street. It was just last week that another {my}dentist practice – this time on Cross Street in Ryde – announced it was to stop treating NHS patients in February – as first reported by Island Echo. The management team cited difficulty in recruiting more NHS clinicians and an unsuccessful attempt to find a new owner for the premises in the heart of the Island’s Country Town as the main reasons for the closure. All those who are currently undergoing an outstanding course of dental treatment will have this completed before the practice closes on 31st January 2024. A spokesperson from {my}dentist has said:
“We are extremely sorry that we have had to take this difficult decision and would like to thank you for your support to the practice during your time as a patient with us.”

This is getting silly now, what a waste of the
Emergency services time.
When will IW Council have these eyesores demolished!
An 18-year-old male was arrested on suspicion of arson last week but has since been released from custody as investigations continue
So where was this 18 year old last night?
Probably starting another fire. They just won’t learn to keep this scum on curfew and tagged will they?
Knock it down and clear the site.
Get rid of the drunks and tramps that use it as their toilet would be a start, I’ve seen them trying to get in there during the day but let’s blame the yute’s *yawn
Enough now. Either start charging the owner for all the thousands and thousands of pounds costs that we the Island tax payers are paying, or start charging for all the appliances call outs. The Island Council should make it a compulsory purchase and level it, then build on the land for local residents to buy affordable housing.
Seems like someone somewhere is pretty determined to see the place burnt.
Yeah, the owner 😉
