A dramatic deciding leg saw Daryl Hunt deny Keegan Brown at the Ambassador Freehouse on Tuesday evening.
Daryl Hunt added another ADC Vault title to his growing collection after edging past Keegan Brown in a high-quality final at the Ambassador Freehouse.
The final proved to be one of the closest contests of the evening, with Hunt racing into a 2-0 lead before Brown battled back to force a deciding leg. Brown had chances to complete the comeback but missed 2 match darts in the decider, allowing Hunt to punish the mistakes with a clinical 14-dart finish to seal a 3-2 victory.
A total of 22 maximum 180s were recorded across the night, underlining the standard on show throughout the competition.
Brown reached the final with a convincing 3-0 semi-final victory over Mark Feakes, while Hunt survived a much tighter encounter against Kieran Hartnell, eventually progressing 3-2.
Earlier in the quarter-finals, Brown defeated Paul Habgood 3-0, Feakes edged past Reggie Woodmore 3-2, Hartnell overcame Wayne Till 3-1 and Hunt dispatched Tom McInnes 3-0.
Hunt also topped the averages charts with a superb 94.02, narrowly ahead of Brown’s 93.94. Woodmore matched Brown’s average with 93.94, while Hunt also posted a 92.16 average during another match. McInnes completed the top 5 with 91.09.
