DANGEROUS DRIVING ARREST FOR 17-YEAR-OLD AFTER YARBRIDGE NEAR-MISS

A 17-year-old boy from Sandown has been arrested on suspicion of dangerous driving following an incident at Yarbridge Crossroads in Brading, in which a Ford Fiesta was almost ploughed into. 

The incident happened shortly before midday on Tuesday 12th May when a Nissan Murano failed to stop for police and failed to stop at a red light at Yarbridge.

The vehicle travelled across the busy crossroads at significant speed, narrowly missing a Fiesta travelling from Sandown to Ryde.

The 4×4-style vehicle did not appear to have an MOT, tax or insurance.

A spokesperson for Isle of Wight Police said:

“This was captured on Dash Cam, and the video was shared widely on social media.

“In the early hours of this morning (Tuesday 19 May) officers arrested a 17-year-old boy from Sandown on suspicion of dangerous driving.

“He remains in custody at this time.”

The vehicle was seized by police in the Bembridge area shortly after an appeal with published by Island Echo.

Now charge the scum with attempted manslaugher if he would of hit that car people inside would of been seriously hurt or worse

Glad they caught him & really hope they throw the book at him not just a slap on the wrists perhaps a stint in prison will do him good because he sure deserves it

Well hopefully the book of highway code is slapped in his face. Then ordered to resit the whole driving test and theory. After 100 hour’s of community service.
