A cruise ship was spotted completing strange manoeuvres off the coast of the Isle of Wight earlier today (Monday).
AIDAnova – a cruise ship under contract from Carnival Corporation for AIDA Cruises – was due to arrive in Southampton from Hamburg but she got into trouble off the coast of Cowes.
Having reached the North Wight the vessel then did an about-turn before then making its way down to Bonchurch where it was seen moving around in circles off the coast of Bonchurch at around 11:00 meaning it never managed to reach Southampton.
It is understood that that adverse weather on the Solent meant that AIDAnova had to proceed to Cherbourg as planned ahead of schedule.
